Abide By The Constitution, Stop Playing Politics With Suntai’s Health, NLC President Warns Political Actors

SuntaiThe President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Abdulwaheed Omar has warned against people playing politics with the health of Gov. Danbaba Suntai of Taraba.
Omar gave warning in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Friday and added that those involved in the controversy in the state act within the law in the interest of the people.
He advised that no one should stage manage the governor’s ability to govern the state, saying if the governor was not incapacitated, he should be allowed to function.
“I think we should stop playing politics with the Taraba State issue and even if we should play politics, we should make sure we don’t contravene the provisions of the constitution.
“It is provided in the constitution that in the case where a governor is not capable, the deputy will fill the gap pending when the governor recovers.
“But in the case of Taraba, it is clear that some people are stage managing the return of the governor and some of the things we are hearing are very funny,” he said.
Omar said if the governor was fit as claimed by his supporters, he should follow due process after returning to the country.
“For a governor who returned from medical treatment abroad, one expects that the first function the governor should have carried out is to address the people of the state.
“But the first thing we are seeing is  sacking people, dissolving the cabinet and doing all sorts of things.
“I think this leaves a lot of questions to be answered. The House of Assembly which should be working hand in hand with the executive claimed they were barred from seeing the governor.
“The governor remains the governor unless he decides to resigns or he dies or there are clear indications that he is incapacitated, then, a formal decision will be taken.
Omar called on all stakeholders to desist from actions that would put the state in jeopardy. (NAN)

"She Scored Zero On Hollywood Scale & Meant Nothing To Movie Devotees" - UK Magazine Disses Omotola Jalade

After going through this interview transcript, I noticed Nollywood actress was tagged the biggest movie star of all times by UK Stella Magazine but when you go further, you will notice this;
“She scores a zero on the Hollywood Richter scale. She has never starred in a major motion picture. Her most recent film, Last Flight to Abuja, means nothing to devotees of Netflix and LoveFilm.”

Is this an achievement or a way of bashing her? Just thinking out loud.

Is this a way to honour a star? Oyinbo people na wa o.

Thankfully the interviewer later recognized her achievements.

Check out the full interview transcript below;

“Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, aka ‘Omosexy’, is the queen of Nollywood. She’s appeared in more than 300 films, pulls in 150 million viewers for her reality-television show and has been named one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

When she sat next to Steven Spielberg at a Time magazine dinner earlier this year he didn’t know her name. Yet Omotola Jalade Ekeinde was attending that dinner because, like him, she had been honoured in Time’s 2013 list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.

Alongside Kate Middleton, Michelle Obama and BeyoncĂ©. The star of more than 300 films, Omotola – or “Omosexy”, as she is known to her legions of fans – is bigger across the African diaspora than Halle Berry.

Her reality-television show, Omotola: The Real Me, pulls in more viewers than Oprah’s and Tyra’s at their peak, combined, and she is the first African celebrity ever to amass more than one million Facebook “likes”.
Read the rest here.

Omotola Jalade is working very hard to build a global recognition after her appearance on Time Magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world but the lady must take it easy o.

Check Out The Exotic Cars Late Prophet Ajanaku Left Behind After His Death

Prophet Ireti Ijanaku, the late General Overseer of Christ Revival Victory Chapel International who recently passed away left behind 10 exotic cars.

The spiritual father of Tope Alabi who was extremely rich, also left behind an all-white mansion located at Ipaja in Lagos.

See more of his cars and what he said about acquiring exotic cars below

Prophet Ajanaku to City People before he died:

"A lot of people who know me believe I don't have a life and I am mysterious. That is why I decided I would also have a hobby which is my love for exotic cars.

I did that purposely so that everyone will be convinced I also have good taste like every other person. The kind of nature I have doesn't value anything. So my love for cars is intentional. It is not a crime to drive exotic cars.

I Took An Unclad Role Because The Pay Was Right – Actor Benson Okonkwo

Enugu-based, fast-rising Nollywood actor Benson Okonkwo is probably the most talked about in the industry because of his daring roles, which many people, according to him, “continue to wrongly associate with his real life personality.”

Here's what Ben said in an interview with Blueprintng.com

Talking about the movie that brought you out, there is a particular movie about gays which has gotten you more accusations and criticisms than accolades. Could you talk about it?

I have promised myself that I will no longer talk about the movie. It’s really funny that Nigeria is a country where people attribute an actor’s role to his real life character.
If I’m given a role to play and I played it excellently, does that make me that character in reality? Yet, it is the same Nigerians who will be first to point fingers at those actors that do not act their movie roles well.
It’s quite funny that because I played a gay role then I’m automatically gay. So if I played the role of a police officer, does that makes me one? I just have to thank my fans who repose so much confidence in me, that’s all.
Are you saying that you are not truly homosexual like a whole lot of people believe?

My brother, what else do you want me to tell you. Please, I’m very busy.

Most of your fans have been asking why you had to star in such a movie, yet you keep denying that you are not gay.

I just told you I was doing my job. Period! Why should I call myself an actor if I can’t play a movie role perfectly? Tell me!  And there is another issue here: I’ve noticed that so many people, because of their own mischevious and dirty minds, would fail to look past the sexual scenes in a movie when there are way too many morals to learn. Like most movies, that movie you are talking about was used to pass a message across to the public.
But if some people refuse to grab those messages and choose to focus on those things that satisfy their lustful and mischievous minds, then it’s no one’s fault.

I also heard there is a new movie you just did in which you acted totally unclad in a scene.? Tell us about it.

The name of the movie is “James Town.” It was directed by an A-list Nollywood director and scriptwriter, Ifeanyi Onyearbor.
My manager, Mr Brown Ene, is a good manager and he called me up and we negotiated and I took the role. It’s a must-see movie.
Now before you start to asking me why and crucifying me, that’s the character I was givien to play. It warrants me to go unclad at a point in the movie. It’s a serious movie.
So like I said, as an actor your ability to interpret any role given to you is what makes you a good one. So Nigerians should understand that I was only doing my job. it’s just a movie. It’s a ghetto movie and I was one of the lead characters in it. I also took the role because the pay was so right. It’s coming out soon; I’m sure people will enjoy it. It starred Nollywood stars like Queenth Hilbert, Patience Ozorkwo a.k.a Mama G, Gbenga Richard and musician, Vicko Kings. It will be available in all cinemas.

You are obviously one of the few actors not afraid to go to any length when it comes to your job. What challenges do you face, especially from the public?

The challenge is nothing more than the regular criticism. You come out in public and when people recognise you, they start to look at you strangely. But I’ve developed a very tough skin to criticisms.
I have come to the realization that whatever you do, even if all you do is just do nothing, say nothing, fold your arms and close your eyes, people will always criticize you no matter who you are, so just do what makes you happy as long as you know you are not hurting anyone.
I will always be grateful to my fans who have been encouraging me.

Bianca Ojukwu Finally Speaks On Her Intimate Relationship With Femi Fani-kayode (READ)

Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s widow and Nigeria’s ambassador to Spain, Mrs. Bianca Ojukwu, has described as false the claim by former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, that she was his girlfriend when she was a spinster.

Fani-Kayode had in his article, entitled: “Neither a tribalist nor a hater,” published in the social media and some segments of the national dailies (not The Sun), claimed to have met with Bianca when she was Miss Bianca Onoh at the Cambridge College and had “intimate” relationship with her together with two other Igbo ladies.

Reacting to this, Bianca said she had never met Fani-Kayode before, either at official or private level, not to talk of having an “intimate” relationship with him.

The ambassador, who spoke through her lawyers, Wall Street Attorneys, has, therefore, threatened to drag the former aide to ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo to court if, in the next seven days, he fails to retract his libelous publication against her.

In the letter from her lawyers to Fani-Kayode, dated August 27, 2013 and signed by Mike Ugwuanyi, Esq, Mrs. Ojukwu demanded that the former minister writes an apology and retraction of the said libelous publication in The Sun and Thisday newspapers, as well as publish it in the online publication, where it emanated, in the next seven days or face litigation.

The letter written by Mrs. Ojukwu’s lawyers and obtained by The Sun read in part: “We have been briefed and our services retained by Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain to demand from you an unreserved apology and a retraction of a false and malicious statement, which you published online and also caused to be published in the Leadership Newspaper of August 16, 2013.

“In the said article entitled, ‘Neither a Tribalist nor a Hater,’ you recklessly alleged, as follows: ‘I was not a tribalist when I had a long standing and intimate relationship with Miss Bianca Onoh…’, a statement, which you know is untrue and unfounded, but only calculated to lower our client’s esteem and damage her national and international reputation.

“Our client has never met you, does not know you in person and has never had any official or private relationship with you how much more ‘a long-standing and intimate relationship.’

“Our client is therefore, outraged by your bizarre and scandalous allegation and the numerous mails and telephone calls she has received from friends, relations and admirers who are equally embarrassed and who seek to confirm the veracity or otherwise of your false and reckless publication.

“Your apparent lame and half-hearted attempt, as published in the Leadership Newspaper of 17th August 2013, to clarify your false and malicious allegation falls far short of a retraction and does not sufficiently address the damage to our client arising from the widespread dissemination of your false publication and is therefore unacceptable to our client.

“In the circumstances, we demand, on the instruction of our client that you submit to her a clear and unqualified apology and retraction published in The Sun and Thisday newspapers in addition to having the retraction published online.

“Take note that should you fail to tender the apology and publish a retraction of your false and malicious publication, seven days next after your receipt of this demand notice, our further instructions are to seek appropriate redress in court. And that shall be without further recourse to you. Be properly guided.”

North Korean President, Kim Jong-Un, Publicly Executes Ex-Girlfriend For Making A Sex Tape

On August 8th, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was in the audience to applaud his ex-girlfriend Hyon Song- wol (right), a singer with the Unhasu National Orchestra. 9 days later a group of artists were arrested for allegedly making a sex tape. His ex was one of them. They were publicly executed by firing squad on August 20th, while their families were condemned to a labor camp.

The North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un ordered the public execution of his ex-girlfriend Hyon Song- wol, accused of 'badography' with a group of artists from the National Orchestra of Unhasu, which his current wife Ri Sol -ju also once belonged to. The arrest took place on August 17, the execution took place in public three days later. According to the indictment the women filmed themselves having sex and then sold the videos in China. Some South Korean sources claim that there were many Christians among those sentenced to death who had a Bible at home, a "crime" that you can pay for with your life or imprisonment in a state gulag in North Korea.
Those shot to death include Mun Kyong -jin, director of the Unhasu orchestra, some singers and dancers of Wangjaesan Light Music Band and some army musicians. All family members of the women involved were sentenced to forced labor. According to the Juche ( the delusional state doctrine conceived by the " father of the nation " Kim Il -sung ) is not enough to punish those guilty of a crime, but it is necessary to eradicate the evil " for three generations . " Every year, on the basis of this principle, thousands of children are born in labor camps and live there until their death.

The "Young Marshal " Kim Jong-un , the third son and heir of the "dear leader" Kim Jong -il, met Hyon about ten years ago . After a brief "official" relationship, the engagement was broken by the father of the dictator and the singer was given in marriage to a military man, while the "third Kim " met his present wife . According to various sources, the two have continued to see each other even after their marriages. The public execution is thus seen as a victory of the "Companion" Ri, who gave two sons to the current dictator and wants to ensure their survival in one of the most cruel dynasties in today's world.

On 8 August, the dictator took part in a concert performed by the now decimated orchestra. The execution is viewed by some analysts as a sign of affirmation of his power: " Kim Jong-un is cruelly eliminating anyone who might be a threat to his rule, anyone who can defy authority. Public executions are silencing anyone who even thinks of undermining him . "

I Slept With A Strange Woman And I Nearly Died

I am a womaniser or should I say, I love women a lot and I could do anything to sleep with any beautiful girl.

I was always after all the girls in my class when I was in school; and you know, I always attracted them by the way I moved stylishly and lavishly spent money on them.

Girls were all around me and I could choose whoever I wanted at anytime. On a fateful day, one of my friends came to invite me to a birthday party, I dressed gorgeously and followed him knowing that I was going to make a ‘new catch, if not catches’ so to say.

When we got to the party, I made myself so conspicuous that it didn’t take time before girls started milling around me. I forgot to tell you that I am quite lanky and attractive.
After partying for some time, I retired with one of my new girls to a nearby hotel which we hired for the night.

As usual, we slept together but that was all I could remember. What do you expect of someone like me? I was so drunk and tired and the way I even managed to sleep with her that night was a mystery. I guess when you are used to something; you can even do it in the grave.

The following day when I woke up, the lady of the night before was nowhere to be found. I dismissed the thought of her as I used to do about other girls and went ahead to get myself prepared to go home not knowing something had gone wrong.

It was when I was about leaving the hotel that I discovered I was not feeling well; I could barely walk and my limbs were shaking. I called my friends and they immediately came to my rescue and rushed me to the hospital for treatment.

I could not explain what happened to me; but all I knew was that I felt empty within me and I knew I was dying gradually.

What could be the cause of my illness as it was not the first time I would go to a hotel with a lady? The doctors could not find anything wrong with me; all they said was that I needed some rest when right within me, I knew I was dying.

I tried to explain to one of the doctors and he later sent me for a blood test which revealed virtually nothing and it was after that I became scared because of the way I was feeling, I didn’t know how a doctor could say I was okay.

After two weeks in the hospital, without any improvement, the doctors invited my parents and advised them to take me home to find solution to my illness as it was beyond orthodox medicine.

Hence, my father asked me series of questions which I didn’t answer candidly. I knew I was dying, but at least, there are some things you dare not tell your parents.

My parents spent so much money on this illness, after I was discharged from the hospital; they took me to a traditional medical practitioner.

The man told my parents to leave while he asked me certain questions which I decided to answer, when it was obvious that I was dying. He asked if I knew the girl I slept with at the hotel that night and I said I didn’t.

That was when he told me I had slept with a ritualist who had probably taken something out of my system to use for her ritual purposes.

I was shocked and I couldn’t speak but when I did, I asked the herbalist if there was any remedy for my problem. He said he would try his best, he also asked if I didn’t mind if he consulted his oracle on my behalf because my parents are Christians who would not allow such things.

Since they were not there, I asked him to do anything to make me get better. Well, to cut a long story short, he tried his best with herbs, but he would not tell me what my illness was. I am alive today to tell the story and I have mended my ways. Since I got well, I never went after any lady. This story is not a fiction; it happened to me in reality and it was God that saved me.

Tope.

My Husband Was Killed 11 Days After We Got Married: I Know His Murderer And I Can’t Do Anything About It

Few years ago, precisely, eight years ago, my only chance at happiness was destroyed.

As at that time, I blamed no one but fate and posterity, but few months ago, I found out the person behind the incident which truncated my happiness and yet I have been advised to keep quiet and try to forget the whole issue. I really do not think I can do this; I have since been haunted by this, which is why I need your advice.

My husband and I met each other at a job interview few months after our service. We had not met before; you know the way it is when you are in a situation where you are bonded by a similar course. We became friends before knowing it. We had both written a test at separate times and we were invited for oral interview because we passed the examinations.

We became friends and eventually started dating because we shared a lot in common and possess a passion for similar things. Our courtship was a fruitful one and after two years we decided to get married. My mother’s joy knew no bounds as I am an only child though with step siblings. My husband also was an only son of his mother with two younger sisters, though with step brothers and sisters. My upbringing however was different from his, because I was not raised in a polygamous set up, but he was.

Before our marriage, I had met and known his family and like he always said, they had their family proverbial black sheep like every other family too. This supposed ‘black sheep’ really liked me and we got along well. My husband would always marvel at this and he sometimes would joke and ask what I bribed him with.

We could not go for a long honeymoon because he had to travel abroad on training from his office, so we went to Spain for only five days, courtesy his office.

When I complained that I wish we could stay on, he promised to take me back when he returned from his three-month training and proceeded on his annual leave. Unfortunately, this wasn’t to be because precisely, 11 days after we became husband and wife, armed robbers attacked us and killed my husband.

We had gone to bed early, suddenly, we heard a loud bang on our door, followed by our elderly landlord’s voice. Our landlord, his wife and their 16-year-old granddaughter lived in the other flat. We lived in a twin bungalow. They were a nice family and the thought of the fact that he was forced by armed robbers to knock our door was far from our mind. We then thought that there was an emergency, we both rushed and opened the door only to be confronted with the reality on ground.

They had been robbed, their granddaughter who was defiled then led to our door. We were all ordered to lie faced down. Our money and other valuables were taken at gun point. I was lying on the floor with the others while my husband was taken round, when he returned into the sitting room, he was ordered to lie on the couch.

They were already leaving when the last man who had been standing at the door turned back and shot my husband in the head. They were all hooded, when the other heard the gun shot, they came back inside and in the bid to pull him away his hood fell off, I saw his eyes and what he looked like. They were in a hurry to leave and didn’t know I saw him.

I had lived with the memory of his face since then. After my husband’s burial, I learnt to live with life, though tough and painful. I was however haunted by this man’s face. After a lot of plea from my mother and even my mother-in-law, to look for love and live I started dating again last year. Sometime this year, my father-in-law passed on. I have a good relationship with my mother-in-law and my late husband’s siblings so I played an active role at the burial. It was a big party. Lo and behold, I saw the alleged thief who shot my husband at the party.

He was a guest of my late husband’s half brother; the proverbial black sheep of their family, who suddenly have become a big man through his supposed importing and exporting business. I couldn’t make out if he recognised me or not, but I cannot forget that face.

I told my mother and later my mother-in-law, both of them were of the opinion that I should let the sleeping dog lie and I shouldn’t raise any hell since he didn’t recognise me or show any sign that he knew me. I don’t know what to do because the quest for justice is making me restless and if that is the only thing I would do for my late husband, I want to do it.

It is an obvious fact that my husband’s half sibling was involved in the incident and my mother-in-law is pleading that she wants peace to reign. My mother also is blackmailing me with the fact that I want to send her to an early grave if anything happens to me.

Please, Taiwo, what should I do?

Randy Ania Lisewska - from Warsaw, Poland - told her Facebook followers she plans to sleep with men in every city in the world for her sex marathon.
"I want men from Poland, Europe and all around the world. I love sex, fun and men," she explained.
"In Poland the subject of sex is still taboo and anyone who wants to fulfil their sexual fantasies is considered a deviant, a whore or mentally ill," she added.
Ania says the marathon began in Warsaw last month and won't stop until she reaches her total.
"I will visit every city in Poland and when I’ve done all of them, I will start travelling abroad.
The fun will take about 20 minutes per person, depending on how many people there are on each day," she explained.

Catholic School Teacher Caught Having Sex With Teenage Student

.

A boarding school teacher has been jailed after being caught in a passionate embrace with a 16-year-old schoolgirl he first seduced on Valentine’s Day.

After admitting to the girl that their relationship was wrong and telling her that she was ‘vulnerable’, Mullen exchanged text messages with her and said he loved her.
Despite warnings from the girl’s mother about Mullen’s behaviour, it emerged during the trial at St

Don't Wash Your Chicken Before Cooking - Health Researchers

Julia Child did it and, according to recent studies, so do about 90 percent of people: rinse their raw birds before cooking.

The idea is to get rid of bacteria that may cause food-borne illness like salmonella.

But a food safety researcher at Drexel University wants you to stop -now.

Jennifer Quinlan, who conducted a study as part of a research project funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, says that washing your raw poultry actually increases the chance of spreading the bacteria around the kitchen.

"It does not get rid of the bacteria, it does not kill the bacteria. However, there is a chance that it will spray that bacteria called aerosolization," Quinlan said in a video as part of a new public service campaign to stop the practice.

According to Quinlan, as many as 90 percent of people rinse their raw birds. That's not surprising since many recipes actually call for you to wash the chicken and pat dry with paper towels.

The origin of the practice stems from some who like to wash away the sliminess that can come with commercial packaging. Others wipe the raw birds with vinegar or rub it with lemon. All these practices are not recommended by the USDA. Instead, you should make sure you clean your knives, cutting boards and other surfaces --and don't let raw poultry or its juices touch other foods.

Got more questions about how to handle your raw poultry, check out what else is recommend by the USDA.

Ozekhome, APC Chief's abductors demand N250m ransom

Ozekhome, APC Chief's abductors demand N250m ransom
Indications emerged on Tuesday that suspected abductors of Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN) and the All Progressives Congress leader in Edo North, Athanasius Ogbome, had contacted the relations of their victims,
demanding N250m altogether as ransom for their release.

There were, however, conflicting reports regarding the whereabouts of the kidnapped senior advocate, his driver and Ogbome.
The victims, who all hail from Edo North, were abducted between Ehor and Iruekpen, along the Benin-Auchi road, last Friday.
While reports on social media indicated that Ozekhome's abductors had contacted his family and were demanding a ransom of N150m, giving a three-day ultimatum for payment, Ozekhome's elder brother, Pius, was reported to have told a confidant that no member of the family had been contacted.
A close friend of Ugbome, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, nevertheless, confided in our correspondent that his abductors demanded N100m for his release.
The friend said the abductors called him and demanded N100m ransom for Ogbome's release.
He said, "They initiated contact on Sunday but they have not called again. This man (Ogbome) has health condition that requires constant attention.
"He is a good person and not a moneybag; they should please release him unconditionally."
Meanwhile youths from Iviukwe, Ozekhome's community, on Tuesday protested against his kidnap on major streets of Benin, demanding his unconditional release.
Speaking on behalf of the protesting youths, Issa Adidi, said, "Ozekhome has been on the side of the masses; he has worked for the downtrodden.
"We are not giving ultimatum to the kidnappers, but we are appealing to them for him to be released unconditionally."
When contacted for developments on the matter, Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Moses Eguavoen, said the police was "seriously monitoring the situation and we are still on search."
On the ransom demand, Eguavoen, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the command was unaware.
Meanwhile, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Mathew Kukah, has described the kidnap of the human rights activist as shocking and "too much punishment for someone who has sacrificed so much for the country."
"I beg the abductors, for God's mercies and for the peace of the souls of those gallant police officers, who surrendered their lives, to release the victims," Kukah said in a statement.
Similarly, human rights lawyer, Mr. Bamidele Aturu, said on Tuesday that Ozekhome deserved no harm.
Aturu, in a statement, pleaded with the abductors to release Ozekhome, who he said, had made significant contributions towards achieving a decent society.
But the Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders said the abduction was an evidence of the high rate of insecurity in the country.
Executive Chairman of the coalition, Debo Adeniran, who lamented the high rate of insecurity in the country on Tuesday in Lagos, called for a sober reflection from Nigerians.
He said, "The state of insecurity in the country should be a cause for concern to well-meaning Nigerians. This is an evidence of security lapses in the country."

Commercial driver and conductor strip naked to avoid arrest in Lagos

A commercial bus driver and his conductor this morning stripped naked at the Allen Avenue/Obafemi Awolowo Way roundabout in Ikeja to prevent some policemen (seen in the pic) from towing their vehicle and arresting them for alleged traffic violation. Their stunt caused heavy traffic around the area this morning and I heard it actually worked as the policemen left the scene quickly.

Oga Olopa don see wetin pass them. Lol.

Nothing Can Stop Jonathan In 2015 ––E.K. Clark Insists

Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark has insisted that nothing and no one can stop President Goodluck Jonathan in his quest to remain in office in 2015 as President, saying PDP will adopt him as sole candidate.

Speaking when he received a delegation of second Republic House of Representatives members who paid him a visit at his residence in Asokoro, Abuja, Chief Clark added:

“For instance, in Great Britain from whom we got our independence, there are the English, the Welsh and the Scottish. The English are the majority, followed by the Scottish and then the Welsh. Each of these ethnic groups has produced the Prime Minister of Great Britain based on the quality of the candidate. In fact, in recent times the Scottish has come to produce more Prime Ministers than the English who are the majority.”

Suntai Can't Talk With Deputy But Wants To Take Over Power; Assembly Disagrees

Heavy tension is building in Taraba State,  which could degenerate into a religious crisis between Christians and Muslims as the principal actors are already playing the religion card.

The confusion in the state reached new heights on Wednesday as the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Mr. Haruna Tsokwa and the Majority Leader, Mr. Joseph Albasu, disagreed on who is now in-charge of the affairs of the state as governor.

The speaker insisted that Deputy Governor Garba Umar remains the governor:
And that the current status quo would continue until the House of Assembly deliberated on the letter 'written' by the recuperating Governor Danbaba Suntai seeking to resume duty.
But the majority leader, Joseph Albasu, is claiming that Suntai had already taken charge as the state’s Chief Executive. The Majority Leader told journalists at the assembly complex in Jalingo that the lawmakers gave the governor the nod to begin work since he had fulfilled the provisions of the 1999 Constitution.

Joseph Albasu, who said he was speaking for all the lawmakers, added that the governor was mentally fit to carry out his duties.

He argued that the constitution did not make it mandatory for a governor to appear before the assembly on the matter in question, arguing that it was against the spirit of the constitution for the assembly to debate the letter by Suntai.

But the Speaker faulted Joseph Albasu, saying Governor Suntai must appear before the Assembly or receive  its principal officers in his office in the Government House, Jalingo.

“Governor Suntai has transmitted a letter to the Assembly, but his deputy, Alhaji Umar, will continue to act, until this assembly deliberates on his letter” and ascertain that he is indeed fit.

Any Man Who Claims He Doesn't Cheat On His Wife Is Lying; We Are All Doing It...

Since the story of Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo's alleged sex scandal with Ese Walter and Franca E. broke in the social media, a lot has been said about MEN and the need to face reality and stop pretending.

One Muslim cleric even described Christian men as people who claim they only eat once in a day but end up taking different snacks in the course of the day. His submission, NAIJAINFO observed, is that Christian men are refusing to marry more wives like their Muslim counterparts, but they are sleeping with young ladies outside their home. #BadThinz

Now, below is what a popular Lagos big-boy said about men and cheating:
Having girlfriends outside? Well, any man that says he doesn’t have a girlfriend outside his home is obviously lying. We all engage in it. So I am not an exception.”
His name is MC Oluomo, a popular Lagos socialite who has been linked with ladies in the movie industry.

But is it really true that men can't stay for life without cheating on their wives? What do you think?

POLITRICKS:Governor Suntai Sacks Taraba State Cabinet Through His Wife

A serious political drama is playing out in Taraba State. A governor who was helped down from an aircraft in public glare, who couldn't say a word to the media at the airport and later when Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State visited him, is now taking actions through third parties.
He sent a letter to the State House of Assembly that he wants to resume as governor but the House say from what they saw at the airport they are not convinced. Hence, they requested that he appear at the floor of the House to address them, with a view to ascertain that he is indeed fit.
But NAIJAINFOSPOT gathered that Suntai's wife will never allow that to happen:
Since the governor can't even make coherent speeches, according to medical sources, it would be suicidal for his wife to take him to the House of Assembly. But the sad development is that executive functions are now being performed in the name of the ailing governor.

A source in Taraba told NAIJAINFOSPOT that the State cabinet appointed by the acting governor, who is the deputy governor, has been sacked by Governor Suntai. Yet no one is sure if the order came from him or his wife since he has neither address the state nor the media since his controversial return.

Governor Suntai, according to a statement, has appointed Timothy Katap as new SSG and Aminu Jika as new COS to the governor. Sources say his wife is now in-charge of the state.
Tension is in the air in Taraba, as the House of Assembly is insisting on hearing from Suntai himself before they can respect any statement released in his name.

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH ASUU?

INBOX:

As an undergraduate, having experienced firsthand the rot that pervades our universities, I became a keen sympathiser with the cause of the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU). I believe that university teachers have the right to good working conditions. Education can only be effective in an environment where we have the right infrastructure, proper funding and necessary motivation for teachers and students alike. And, as far as I was concerned, that’s what ASUU has been fighting for. So, I would usually go any length to stand by their position.

However, considering the situations surrounding the current strike, I am beginning to think otherwise. ASUU seems to be changing to a sort of academic oligarchy in which a few people determine the course of the association in a bid to pursue some sinister interest. Why else would the supposed intellectuals remain adamant in spite of concessions by the government and entreaties from the citizens? Apparently, the desire for personal rewards is paramount in the hearts of the dons as against the commitment to fulfil their roles as nation builders that they are supposed to be.

When the Federal Government approved the sum of 100 billion naira for infrastructural facilities and 30 billion naira for allowances last week, everyone was almost certain that ASUU would call off the strike. But as far as the almighty association is concerned, that might as well be a daydream. Neither the government’s concession nor their students’ plight is enough to make them do what is right. From the way things are, it appears that ASUU wouldn’t mind shutting down the entire economy if only to satisfy their requirements.

Taking a comprehensive assessment of the situation, one even begins to wonder if ASUU’s requests are legitimate in the first place. What do the lecturers have to show for the interventions that have been made in previous times? How has increase in allowances contributed to the improvement of teaching and research in our ivory towers? Rather than being inspired to greater heights of commitment, a good number of our lecturers have plunged to greater depths of indolence and even shameless exploitation.

I was shocked when during my NYSC year, some of my fellow corps members narrated their ordeals of how they were obligated to buy certain handouts without which their failure was guaranteed regardless of how well they performed in the examinations. Others had to buy expensive gifts like car tyres, refrigerators/freezers and other items just to persuade their supervisors to ratify their final year thesis. Yet, these are the same people holding everyone to ransom over allegations of unpaid allowances. It is high time ASUU reconsidered its position and made necessary concessions whilst also calling her members to order in a bid to restore our universities to the bastions of academic excellence that they are supposed to be.

OPINION: ESE WALTER AND PASTOR FATOYINBO SEX SCANDAL

ESE WALTER AND PASTOR FATOYINBO SCANDAL: BETWEEN SCHADENFREUDE AND FAIR OPINION

I have taken a break from mass media for a while to take care of some personal projects. However, I have been so harangued by the sex scandal involving Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo and Ese Walter that I think I should offer a word or two on it. Reading Ese Walter’s account on her personal blog, I couldn’t help but admire the courage with which she is learning to live her authentic life. However, it is quite unfortunate that many people have had their minds so beclouded with anger, jealousy or some other strong emotions that they have completely missed the point.

The volume of malicious words and degree of distortion on social media suggests that a good number of people are simply motivated by the desire to derive pleasure from other people’s misfortunes especially when such people are leaders, public figures or high achievers. We hear stories of someone missing the mark and we’re all too eager to nail the culprit and condemn the “sinner”, forgetting that in God’s courtroom, we’re either witnesses or advocates, not judges. Besides, history has proven time and time again that the most vehement critics are often guilty of greater transgressions either secretly or somewhere down the line. When we criticise and condemn people, it says more about us than it says about them.

Thankfully, the Bible does not hide the stories of great people like King David who committed adultery and aggravated it with murder in a bid to cover up. Yet, God forgave him as soon as he dealt with the issue. Even though he suffered great losses after the incident, he still occupies pride of place both in the Bible and in secular history. We have similar examples in contemporary times. To deny our tendency to transgress is to deny our humanity. When people fail or appear to fail, we should learn to accept their predicament with charity and equanimity, especially when such people are leaders and public figures. These people face challenges that are unknown to most of us. Our responsibility is to pray for them while supporting them on the path to recovery. It is not our prerogative to judge or condemn anyone. This does not mean that leaders are unquestionable. However, it is important that we free them to sort themselves out with the Ultimate Judge and the people that have been hurt by their actions.

I understand the anger, disappointment and frustration evoked by stories like this. However, I believe that we would do well to stop every form of vindictive remark and despiteful gossip against either party. Rather, let us address the situation in the spirit of the confessor whose self-professed goal is to bring healing to herself and deliverance to other people caught in a similar web. This is even more important in light of the fact that the plaintiff always seems convincing until the defendant comes to cross-examine him. It is too early to form a fair opinion on this issue as we have only heard one side of the story. And even if the other side confirms our fears, it does not in any way signal the end of Pastor Fatoyinbo’s ministry; neither does it pollute the credibility of the Gospel or dilute the authenticity of Christ’s message.

BBA 2013: 'Organizers Use And Cheat Nigerians; Melvin or Beverly Osu Should Have Won' – Susan Peters

Few hours after Namibian Dillish Matthews was announced as the winner of The Chase, BBA 2013, Nollywood actress Susan Peters has expressed her disappointment.

The actress claims Big Brother Africa organizers allegedly cheated Nigerians out of their votes.

She also said Dillish Matthews might have bribed them behind the scene. Check out her tweets below:

From day one of the show, I know that talkative Beverly Osu may not win with her hyperactive personality.

The most irritating part of the whole thing was when she engaged in a terrible adult scene with Angelo.

I think Melvin Oduah’s character deserves some merit.

Do you agree with Susan Peters?
